No problems for me for either wiki. Which one are you referring to? The official or the non-official?

It's tied into the connectivity issues in-game that many players are reporting and have been reporting for the last week. There seems to be a routing issue between some players and various NC Interactive servers on the 64.25.35.*** (Wiki) and 64.29.35.** ranges.

Because you're not pathing through the downed server or you're hitting it in between outages - it's intermittent.

This is affecting the Wiki, the main site and the game for some users, and it is reliant on how they are pathed after reaching the ANet/NCSoft servers (which probably means the internal pathing is dictated by where they enter the servers to begin with).

If you're not pathing through the same route, it's not going to affect you. It is, however, affecting many other players.

Been unable to get on wiki or the game few days now. Have ticket in and they spent Friday trying this and that. They went home for weekend and I have to wait until someone gets back. More than a bit annoying.

The issues with the Wiki & GW sites, and the login issues some users are experiencing, are both caused by the same issue - and it is a problem WITHIN their servers.

In order to circumvent the problem, you have to change either your origin, or your destination, or both.

Imagine you want to drive from Chicago to Detroit. If you know there are major problems on one highway about midway there, you can either change where you start from... NYC instead of Chicago... change where you're going... St. Louis instead of Detroit... or you can change the route you take from Chicago to Detroit.

You can change your origin, at least as it relates to the sites, by using the Internet Archive Wayback system... when you try to access a page they have not cached, it grabs a new snapshot of the page. You're actually able to navigate from there, because it's all filtering through the IAW system, and thus originating from their location, not yours.

With the game itself, you have to change your origin to change your destination... if you can log into the game from somewhere other than where you currently are, you can then move to the European districts. That changes your destination, and allows you to move around the "road blocks" currently stopping you from going from Chicago to Detroit.

Until they either fix the roadblock... or you can get it so that you're loading into a different server cluster (Europe instead of America... International is apparently having issues all its own)... this issue isn't going to resolve. They only just started admitting there IS an issue at the end of the work week, which kind of pisses me off since it was happening all week long... but it is what it is.

Belablue, don't forget, there is also the unofficial Wiki, which has the same information (and up to date unlike some of the Wayback pages LOL). You can find that here: http://www.guildwiki.org/Main_Page

Enjoy

Wiki's down for me, Games down for me (Code = 058, if I get in 015 instantly), GuildWars.com is completely eff'd GuildWars2.com works for me (For obvious reasons). I live in Canada, possible routing issue through one of the hop's. Edit: Everything is now back up, less then 2 minutes later.

Just wanted to put this out here:
GW/wiki/ncsoft all didn't work.
All of a sudden gw wiki loading today, I could also access NCsoft website and what not.
I thought the game would be fixed but apparently I still can't connect. Furthermore, every time I try logging into GW, ncsoft/anet/gw wiki don't load anymore. Have to quit the game, give it a min before it runs smooth again.

Ahoy from Rift! Actually, Im a GW player too but I figured I'd come here.

Rift, the new MMO on the block, has been suffering the EXACT SAME THING. Our tech savvy users have been trying to pinpoint the cause of the error and then we found out that you guys are suffering from the same thing and for the same reason! 0_0

Hopefully, with both communities making a little noise, someone might notice and figure out how to fix it. I fear it is neither an NCSoft problem nor a Trion problem, though... so here's hoping both companies can come to a resolution with Level3!

17 page topic on Rift Forum about same issue

I've been having this same issue pretty much constantly all week now and I've been trying to find more evidence that I'm not alone in this, so I'm glad I stumbled upon this thread.

I've been doing traceroutes throughout the past week and the issue seems to be with backbone close to the Guild Wars NA data center. There are some Level 3 Dallas routers that are dropping a lot of packets and it's affecting not just Guild Wars (more on that at the bottom).

This morning I was getting 50-60% packetloss on a level 3 dallas router (the one in bold):

Trace complete.
Some days I almost can't get to the website and wiki, takes upto 15 mins of constantly refreshing to get through sometimes.

As I said, it's not just Guild Wars that's being affected by these bad Level 3 routers. I've discovered there's two threads a few miles long on the Rift forums with people also having lagspikes, dropped packets and disconnection issues:
http://forums.riftgame.com/showthrea...ssues-recently

If something isn't done soon this is going to get out of hand.

I just talked to a really great guy, Mike, at GW support. He's asked me to use a 3rd party program, PingPlotter Standard, and send him the results.

I'm going to paste the info he sent below. It would really help them out if others who are having the same issue could create a log of their own (use the IP address you'll see in the upper left corner of the screen when it is attempting to load your outpost) and email it to them at [email protected]. Make the subject of your email "Connectivity Issues: Attn Mike" so it will hopefully reach him.

Even if you are now logging in on a European district so as to circumvent the issue, a log would still be useful for them.
Use the IP address you are able to connect to... you can find that information by hovering your mouse over the little green "status" circle on your User Interface.

This information might also be useful if submitted by those dealing with the Guild Hall issues. The more info we can give them, the faster they can resolve this.

PLEASE report the problems you are having!! [email protected]

Quote:
There is a free trial program called PingPlotter Standard which may be of some use to us in determining the health of your active Internet connection. We ask that if you are using a router, hub, or switch, to first disconnect this device and connect directly to your modem before running this utility. You may have to reboot your modem and/or computer to reestablish your Internet connection.

This program is not supported by NCsoft. You can find the program and information on how to use it at http://www.pingplotter.com/download.html

1. Please download and install the Standard version of PingPlotter.

2. Run the program and in the upper left corner you will see an "Address to Trace:" section.

3. Type in the server IP you find in game by hovering your mouse over the colored dot in the lower right hand portion of the screen and click the "Trace" button. Please allow the tool to run for at least 30 minutes even if you are unable to play, or you get disconnected during this time.

4. Click on the "Stop" button. Then, click on File -> Save Sample Set and save the file to your computer in a location that will be easy to find, such as your Desktop.

Please update your incident at the provided link and attach the report. If you encounter a problem such as excessive lag or Code=007, please tell us what time the problem occurred so that we can investigate that section of the report.

Many rift players, including myself, are noticing a lack of lag spikes. As in completely fixed. I could be jumping the gun in saying this and it may turn out I lag spike as I'm submitting this reply, but you guys keep an eye out too.

@TheGizzy: I've done as you suggested and sent in a support ticket addressed to Mike with a total of 3 traceroutes (website, NA server and EU server for comparison value).

I've asked that if the ticket doesn't end up with Mike, that they at least forward the traceroutes to him since he's already looking into it.

I will let you know when I hear anything.

Updat: The Aion NA website and game server are in the same boat it seems (same hosting location I'd guess). Found a thread of people complaining about it on the NA forums, same time period (past week), same symptoms.
